ACID WEAVE
OVERVIEW
Acid Weave looks at the notion of ‘belonging’ and how it often changes when we travel or move someplace new. Is home where we sleep or is it where we were born? How do we come to belong to a place or community? Can we make ourselves belong somewhere or do we sometimes never belong? Taking the objects we most treasure with us helps create familiarity and makes us feel safe. The nomadic weavers of central Asia, weave their homes wherever they go, and it’s both their work and their lifestyle which became a point of departure for this re-interpretation of craft-based practices in digital media.
