I’m delighted to announce that I will be donating one of the letterpress artworks from Collected Patterns: The botany of Walter Hill to help raise funds for the rebuilding effort in Japan, post 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
Eba Hiro, Director of Hanasho: Flower and Art in West End, Brisbane has together with support from designer Fukutoshi Ueno, curated a lovely exhibition of local artists work, titled Kizuna. ‘Kizuna’ means ‘bond’ in Japanese and signifies the coming together of creatives to assist with the recovery of the Japanese people affected by this natural disaster, by donating artwork. 100% of proceeds from work sold during the exhibition will be donated to the fundraising effort and go directly to those who need it most.
Even though my work, is is based on Brisbane’s history, it is reflective of our natural environment and speaks of harmony through composition, balance and symmetry. I’m proud to be involved in this initiative.
