Collected Patterns: The botany of Walter Hill – Packaging

When creating a body of work, the job doesn’t just stop at the artwork. So much comes into play: the choice of font to represent the exhibition, the graphics for the invitation carried through to the wall didactics and list of works and of course the packaging for the artwork.

To house the beautiful unframed letterpress and digital prints in my exhibition Collected Patterns: The botany of Walter Hill, I have worked with Northern Tag Stringers to create a sturdy range of clean white envelopes with button and string closures. The prints, once wrapped in acid-free tissue, enclosed in these pristine envelopes and ‘stamped’ with highly graphic stickers commemorating the exhibition (produced through Breed Design), will be collectors items, for sure!

Exhibition runs: 5-12 March, 2011 at Myrtle Street Studio
