Unlimited: Designing for the Asia Pacific – In Review – Day 6+7

Unlimited: Designing for the Asia Pacific – In Review – Day 6+7
October 11, 2010 KT

The final weekend of Unlimited wrapped up with more workshops: the Generation Students’ Workshop, and Learning by Design Teachers’ Workshop, and more free talks including: Jeb Brugmann’s Feeding Tomorrow’s Billions and Our Houses: a panel discussion about subtropical living led by Cameron Bruhn, Editorial Director of Architecture Media.

I managed to also do a last lap and take in the curated exhibition Light from Light, a series of installations integrated into SLQ by Australian and Chinese artists, and Lightwave, the major, temporary installation at South Bank by AnL Studio. I capped it all off hearing 10 talented speakers presenting as part of a special Unlimited Pecha Kucha on 10.10.2010.

There were still a few events and exhibitions I didn’t make it to, but all in all feel I gained a good understanding of what the inaugural design triennial was hoping to achieve, and think they got there. I’ll be keeping an eye on the Unlimited website as the team continues to connect us between triennials with ideas, thoughts and inspiration for our future…
