This exquisite letterpress print is one of three botanical patterns in the Collected Patterns Mixed Three series. Erythroxylon Coca is native to South America and is best known for its alkaloids, a powerful stimulant called cocaine. Walter Hill cultivated it in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens for its medicinal properties and as a substitute for tea, coffee, tobacco and opium. Including it in this series illustrates the importance of Botanical Gardens as hot-houses for experimentation, which was one of their main functions. Printed on beautiful handmade Magnani Incisioni 650/5 Smooth White 100% Cotton Rag Paper with rubber-based inks using an original Heidelberg Windmill Letterpress, this print is one of a very limited edition of 20 impressions and is highly collectible. Each print is signed, numbered and titled on the back, wrapped in acid-free tissue and presented in a beautiful custom envelope, perfect for gifting. Also included, are details about the print, the series it’s part of and confirmation of the edition number purchased. The frame pictured is not included, however, frames are widely available and inexpensive, like the beautiful selection at Country Road. The print fits a standard frame with a 4x6″ window mount.
