The Casuarina Series

OVERVIEW
The Casuarina Series includes three mid-format black and white giclée prints exploring the Casuarina, a native Australian plant lining most coastal beaches.

Included in the series are: Casuarina Wreath, eliciting the shape of a wreath bordering a looking glass of human proportions; Casuarina Dome, creating a simultaneously concave/convex three-dimensional image; and Casuarina Sateen, creating a traditional, multi-directional, tossed pattern repeat. The rich, matt black ink allows the white Casuarina motifs to hover above the surface, as if floating in space. This series shows how one motif can transform a design depending on how it is repeated and varied.
