Nicola Moss – Sight Lines at SGAR

Nicola Moss – Sight Lines at SGAR
September 12, 2011 KT

It’s been a long time since I’ve been really moved by artwork… But, I had an emotional experience seeing the recent work of Nicola Moss in her exhibition, Sight Lines, currently showing at Spiro and Grace Art Rooms (SGAR).

Nicola is a mid-career artist who’s work centres around the landscape and her immediate environment. She is often found working directly on site near to her home and on the islands off the south-east coast of Queensland, documenting the development of her work on her blog. This current body of work is largely comprised of hand-cut paper works, which have first been coloured, then cut, then mounted and framed. They have a resonance beyond the subject matter that is quite ethereal and brings awareness to our natural environment as essential to life.

For more details about Nicola, her work and this exhibition, visit the SGAR website.

The show runs until 17 September 2011 and is a must see if you are in Brisbane.
