Myrtle Street Studios & Grahame Galleries + Editions

Myrtle Street Studios & Grahame Galleries + Editions

What do these two galleries have in common? They both exhibit and support artists working in print media. Grahame Galleries + Editions has been a stronghold within the Brisbane arts industry for years and director, Noreen Grahame has built a glowing reputation for both the gallery and the artists she represents.

Newcomer, just about to celebrate its 1st anniversary is Myrtle Street Studio (MSS). Director, Jay Dee Dearness, has also chosen to focus on and represent print-based and photographic exhibitions. And as you know, MSS is the exhibition venue for my upcoming show Collected Patterns: The botany of Walter Hill. More on this in coming posts…

It’s so nice to see younger galleries helping the established in times of need. When I was talking to Jay Dee about donating 10% of all sales from Collected Patterns to help Noreen reinstate her recently flood-affected gallery (which is also her home), Jay Dee said she would also like to help in some way. And so MSS is donating 10% of my gallery hire fee towards the Grahame Galleries + Editions’ Flood Fund in conjunction with the funds I raise through sales of work during my exhibition.

10% + 10%. Nice!
