Banksia + Casuarina

Banksia + Casuarina

I am now the proud collector of work by Jeweller to the Lost, Barbara Heath!

Barbara designed these exquisite Banksia brooches for the Australian Garden History Society’s 32nd Annual Conference held recently in Maryborough, which I posted about here and here. These hand-worked pieces are all individually crafted, no two are the same. It was so hard choosing which one I would love to live with forever, that I had to choose two (pictured below), of course!

The very lovely part of this story is that Barbara has included the Casuarina giclée print (bottom image) from my Collected Patterns: The botany of Walter Hill solo exhibition in her art collection. Barbara now owns impression #4 from the edition of 10, expertly and lovingly printed on 100% Hahnemühle cotton rag paper. Her husband and co-collaborator at The Jeweller to the Lost, Malcom Enright, collected the entire 1st impression of Bunya Bunya series of postcard-sized letterpress prints direct from the exhibition in March.

To find out more about the divine Banksia brooches, visit the Jeweller to the Lost blog, in particular this post and this one also. There are still some available, but not for long!
