Danielle Wilde is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Art and Design at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) and the CSIRO Division of Materials Science and Engineering (Belmont, Australia). “Investigating how technology might be paired with the body to poeticise experience, and what this might mean, her research sits at the nexus of performance, body-worn technology research, fine art, critical (technology) and interaction design.”
If you’re in Melbourne on Sunday 28 August, why not pop along to the old MUMA Gallery at Monash’s Clayton campus and have a play with prototypes for such weird and wonderful inventions as the Hip Disk (recent finalist on The ABC’s New Inventors show), Light Arrays, Hip Drawing, Gesture≈Sound Experiments and the OWL project.
Danielle’s work is fun, interactive, exploratory and meaningful. Her approach is curious and involved. She is currently raising funds for a beautiful catalogue and DVD to accompany the research and you can be involved in making this happen through donations to her project at pozible.com.
