The arc of the sun at this time of year, dapples the most lovely light in my studio in the afternoons. The windows are open, circulating a cooling cross-flow of air, and the evening will fall soon.
I am working on the prints for the upcoming group exhibition, MADE at SGAR in Brisbane. As part of my developmental process, I always create test prints at scale to check the final size of the works – both the finished proportions and the size of the motifs – just as I do when creating surface designs for wallpaper. This process is crucial, but that doesn’t mean it has to be expensive! I ask my local print shop to print black and white copies on their large format plan printer. A few dollars later, I have my tests.
The works are not quite there yet. Some more tests to do, but will they be ready soon…
